October 21, 2012 – growth[period] CEO ran an annual bake sale for the Lucky Dog Animal Rescue in Montgomery County. Lucky Dog Animal Rescue is a volunteer-run animal rescue that saves homeless and abandoned dogs and cats from certain euthanasia. With no boarding facility or shelter of their own, Lucky Dog holds events across the District, Maryland, and Virginia. Lucky Dog seeks not only to place dogs in loving homes but also to educate dog owners about responsible pet ownership.
November, 2012 – growth[period] supports Montgomery County Hospice. Montgomery County Hospice is a nonprofit hospice serving residents of Montgomery County, Maryland. Their team of doctors, nurse practitioners, nurses, spiritual counselors, social workers, certified nursing assistants, bereavement counselors and volunteers works with patients and their families to provide quality end-of-life care in homes, extended care facilities and at Casey House, their acute care facility.
November 15, 2012 – growth[period] CEO Courtney Banks Spaeth spoke at The Five College Women’s Research Center. The panel discussed “Security In the Digital Age: Are Women At Risk?” The speech was held at Mt. Holyoke College in Massachusetts.
January 28, 2013 – growth[period] CEO Courtney Banks Spaeth spoke at the Episcopal Academy High School Career Day in Pennsylvania.
March 1, 2013 – growth[period] Director of Analysts, Ryan Gilhooley, attended the 11th Annual Heartsongs Luncheon benefitting Children’s National Medical Center. The annual Heartsongs Luncheon supports the Children’s National Medical Center’s outreach to the hospital’s critical care units. Proceeds will go toward fulfilling the hospital’s wish list, which are items that would provide comfort to the patients in these units.
March 12, 2013 – growth[period] CEO Courtney Banks Spaeth spoke at the York University Schulich School of Business IMBA Program in Toronto, Canada.
April 3, 2013 – growth[period] supported the “Walk to Save Lives” fundraiser. We walk and run to honor the thousands of heroes who, trained by the Red Cross, stand ready to help save your life or the lives of those you love. Every day, people are faced with frightening emergencies. From choking or cardiac arrest to fires and floods, each emergency is random and unpredictable. It is only with your support that the Red Cross can answer the call for help, one family at a time, whenever disaster strikes.
April 21, 2013 – growth[period] supports the Celeste & Sydney Recovery Fund for the victims of the Boston bombing. Celeste and Sydney Corcoran were badly injured in the blasts at the Boston Marathon on 4/15/13. Sydney suffered severe injuries as a result of being hit with shrapnel and Celeste has lost both her legs below her knees. There is a long road ahead – both physically and emotionally and the Celeste & Sydney Recovery Fund helps them with this financial burden. Please help spread the word and donate if you can.
July 15, 2013 – growth[period] CEO Courtney Banks Spaeth became a founding member of the Northern Virginia Family Service Child Advisory Council (NVFS). The NVFS is tasked with raising awareness and money for all NVFS programs that directly impact the children in their care, including: Head Start/Early Head Start, Healthy Families, Foster Care, IPE, and their SERVE family shelter.
