May 13, 2014 – growth[period] attended the Business Executives in National Security Eisenhower Award Dinner. Nearly 400 Business Executives in National Security members and special guests celebrated the national security contributions made by two distinguished leaders and military personnel at the 2014 Eisenhower Award Dinner in Washington, DC. Attendees gathered at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center to honor Admiral Michael H. McRaven, USN, Commander, United States Special Operations Command and the Honorable Mike Rogers, Chairman, Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, United States House of Representatives. These two men were recognized for their innovative approach to addressing some of America’s most pressing national security challenges, and Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence Michael G. Vickers spoke at length on the two men’s accomplishments.

June 4, 2014 – growth[period] CEO, Courtney Banks Spaeth, and COO, Kate Pickworth attend the Women of Influence, Washington D.C. annual dinner, where Banks Spaeth was recognized. Attending the event were many accomplished women leaders, including Kim Horn, President of Kaiser Permanente for the Mid-Atlantic Region, Sandy Hallmark, Partner at Akin Gump, Maryscott Greenwood, Partner at McKenna Long & Aldridge, Sarah Nutter, Dean of the School of Business at George Mason University, Carolyn Lawrence, Global Head of Women of Influence, and Lisa Heidman, of the Bedford Group, among many others. The event took place at the Top of the Hay-Adams and had a fantastic view of the White House!

June 6, 2014 – growth[period] CEO Courtney Spaeth attends wreath laying and changing of the guard ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery. Mrs. Spaeth was privileged to be the guest of Major General Jeffrey Buchanan, Commanding General, JFHQ-NCR/MDW, at Arlington House for dinner after the Ceremony, with the Board of Directors of the Greater Washington Board of Trade.

August 25, 2014 – growth[period] senior leadership recently supported the struggle to preserve endangered species by adopting a tiger group via Panthera.
Panthera focuses on saving wild cat species across the globe in order to protect these highly endangered species and conserve the large, functioning ecosystems on which they depend. Large cats act as landscape guardians and their presence indicates healthy, intact ecosystems that are crucial for all life, including people. Panthera’s efforts are focused on all major endangered wild cats, including tigers, lion, snow leopards, cheetahs, leopards, and jaguars.

September 18, 2014: growth[period] senior leadership is proud to support the Careers through Culinary Arts Program (C-CAP), which works with public schools across the country to prepare underserved high school students for college and for careers in the restaurant and hospitality industry. This curriculum enhancement program links public high school culinary teachers and their students to the food service industry, and has awarded students with $37 million in scholarships and donated $2.8 million in supplies and equipment to classrooms since its inception in 1990. C-CAP also supports teacher training initiatives and provides job training, internships, and career advice to students and alumni.

September 23, 2014: NSAWW senior leadership is proud to support The Women’s Center and is looking forward to attending the Inspiring Women Benefit on November 8th! The Women’s Center, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary, is a counseling and resource center dedicated to improving the psychological, career, financial, and legal well-being of women through therapy and career counseling. Proceeds from the annual gala will support reduced fee counseling, educational programs, and resources for women and families in need.

September 23, 2014: NSAWW senior leadership is eagerly awaiting the Cocktails with Canines VMF Fundraiser, which will celebrate veterans with VMF service dogs and puppies, as well as their raisers and therapy teams. Brigadier General Lyn Sherlock, USAF (Ret.), NSAWW Senior Principal, is the event Chair, and NSAWW is proud to sponsor this worthwhile evening. The Fundraiser will be held at the Army Navy Club on November 7th.
