DoD — President Trump tapped the Assistant Secretary for the Army for Civil Works to be acting Army Secretary following Dan Driscoll’s departure last week, bypassing Under Secretary of the Army Michael Obadal. Adam Telle has been responsible for the Army Corps of Engineers in his current role and has strong connections to Congress.
Last week, President Trump formally nominated acting Secretary of the Navy Hung Cao to fill that post on a permanent basis. Cao has been acting in the role since April. The Space Force’s $4 billion Infrastructure Portfolio Acquisition Executive (PAE) is moving to Colorado from California amidst a wider reorganization of Space Force command locations.
The Department of War last week announced the Secure Space Network, a new effort to expand access to classified work by deploying approximately 50 mobile Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs) across the United States. This effort will enable more defense suppliers to participate in classified development, collaboration, and production by broadening regional access to accredited secure workspaces.
