Founded in 1981, WBB delivers program management and consulting services to the US Department of Defense (DoD) and other federal agencies. The firm supports clients with solutions in weapons acquisition support, advanced analytics, mission support, organizational development, and training – with strong capabilities in weapons modernization, machine learning, cybersecurity, wargaming, and simulation.

Serco’s purchase of WBB added nearly 1,000 employees and $230 in annual revenue. As a result of the acquisition, Herndon, VA-based Serco now has 9,000 employees in North America and an annual revenue of $1.7 billion.  Parent company Serco Group plc has $5 billion in annual revenue and more than 50,000 global employees.

April 2020-- growth[period] is proud to announce that we have been selected as a 2020 Best Place to Work in Greater Washington in the small business category by the Washington Business Journal. This is the fifth time that growth[period]  has placed on the Best Places to Work List. Every year the Washington Business Journal honors 85 companies as the ‘Best Places to Work’ in the D.C. area. Winners received this distinction by scoring the highest among hundreds of employers that participated in an annual employee engagement survey. Rankings of the Best Places to Work honorees will be announced later this year at a special awards event at MGM National Harbor. CEO Courtney Spaeth Awarded the 2019 Joseph Wharton Award

On October 16, 2109, growth[period] CEO Courtney Spaeth was joined by her family, friends, and colleagues to celebrate her as a recipient of the 2019 Joseph Wharton Award, the Washington DC Wharton Club’s highest honor. Every year the Joseph Wharton Award is awarded to an exemplary individual that has demonstrated a commitment to public and community service, outstanding career achievements, and support of the Wharton School, the University of Pennsylvania, and alumni clubs. Since the Wharton Club initiated this tradition, they have honored top officials in business, government, non-profits, academia, and the legal and accounting professionals who have attended Wharton or other schools at UPenn. Courtney was unanimously voted by the Board to receive this award based on her many accomplishments and contributions to the community. In 51 years she is one of only 6 non-Wharton grads at UPenn to receive this honor.
