July 2011: NSAWW is proud to announce the addition of Mr. John N. Wanat to its Board of Advisors.  Mr. John N. Wanat has had a distinguished career in U.S. national security, with 35 years of demonstrated leadership experience in counterintelligence, counterterrorism, and public integrity arenas and 30 years as a Federal law enforcement official. He is currently serving as an Instructor with Six3 Systems Inc at the Joint Counterintelligence Training Academy, Quantico, VA. He previously served as the Principal Intelligence Analyst at ManTech International Corporation-Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) Headquarters Counterintelligence Directorate, where he provided critical support and oversight to multi-agency counter-proliferation initiatives. There he developed a multi-agency program that was designed to identify, monitor and disrupt the illicit transfer of technologies which pose a significant risk to the worldwide capabilities of the U.S. Navy and which impact the balance of power between the United States and foreign navies. From 2002 to 2006, Mr. Wanat served as Assistant Director for Investigations for the Department of Commerce, Office of Export Enforcement (OEE), where he directed the enforcement operations of OEE field offices that are responsible for protecting U.S. national security, homeland security, foreign policy, and economic interests through a law enforcement program focused on the export of dual-use technologies. In 2001, he was selected to a one-year Congressional fellowship to examine federal agency operations at the U.S. Senate Committee on Government Affairs. In the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks, his accomplishments included drafting the section of legislation that created the Department of Homeland Security Inspector General and gave law enforcement powers for all Inspectors Generals.

June 2011: Nat’l Security Associates WorldWide (NSAWW) is proud to announce the addition of Ms. Marlene Nicholson to its Board of Advisors as a special advisor to the Transaction Services practice.

Ms. Marlene Nicholson recently retired after 29 years with Barclays Bank PLC, one of the largest banks in the United Kingdom. Ms. Nicholson served as Director of Government Relations for the Barclays Washington office from 1987-2010. She also chaired the International Trade and Investment Policy Committee of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association from 2008 through 2010. In this role, Ms. Nicholson participated in policy matters before both US and EU senior officials. Ms. Nicholson also was instrumental in establishing the "Financial Leaders Group,” a senior US/EU private sector group that was dedicated to the completion of the financial services portion of the Uruguay Round of multi-lateral trade negotiations. In addition, she assisted Barclays Chairman of the Americas in the design and establishment of the Americas Governance and Control Committee and served as the secretary of the committee for ten years. In 2005 the British government awarded Ms. Nicholson honorary membership in the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) for services to British Banking and Trade.
