WWII powgrowth[period] executive Lyn Sherlock attended and supported a Purple Heart presentation in honor of Second Lieutenant John R. Pedevillano at the Air Force Memorial in Arlington, Virginia on July 14, 2017. John Pedevillano received the Purple Heart for his service during World War II.

At age 19 Pedevillano enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and became part of the “306 Bomb Group.” His bomber was shot down over Nazi Germany in April 1944. He sustained injuries from the crash and was held captive at Stalag Luft III, a prisoner of war camp in Zagan, Poland, until Allied forces liberated him in 1945.
