July 2016 - CEO Courtney Spaeth recieved SmartCEO's "Brava Award", a program that celebrates high-impact female entrepreneurs. The winners are selected by an independent committee of local business leaders. The Brava Awards program recognizes women with entrepreneurial spirits and a passion for giving back to the community, and encourages philanthropy, mentoring of up-and-coming leaders, and business growth.  This year's winners in the Washington, DC region collectively generate more than $1.44 billion in annual revenue and employs 21,320 individuals, and we are pleased to be a part of this impressive cohort.

This exciting conference is dedicated to providing a forum for industry professionals and students to discuss trends and the growing role of analytics in the global sports industry, and fosters growth and innovation in this arena. Key speakers this year included Adam Silver, Commissioner of the NFL; Don Garber, Commission of MLS; John Walsh, Executive Vice President of ESPN; and Edward Tufte, Professor Emeritus of Political Science, Statistics, and Computer Science at Yale University. The conference has been held annually since 2007, and has become the premier destination for sports analytics discussion.

NSAWW CEO to Accept "Angel” Outreach Award Tomorrow

March 2014: NSAWW is proud to announce that Chief Executive Officer, Courtney Banks Spaeth has been selected by the Business and Professional Women’s Foundation to receive the 2014 Joining Forces Mentoring Plus "Angel” Outreach Award in honor of her significant efforts to raise awareness and cultivate support for the Joining Forces Mentoring Plus program through her personal and professional networks.

The ceremony, which will take place on March 18th at the U.S. Navy Memorial, is part of the BPW Foundation’s Women’s History Month Celebration and will feature First Lady Michelle Obama as the honorary chair and NBC4’s Erika Gonzalez as the moderator. Alliant Credit Union, Booz Allen Hamilton, and BPW North Carolina will be honored alongside Mrs. Spaeth in recognition of their own contributions to the Joining Forces Mentoring Plus program. The ceremony will also feature two career development panels focusing on social media and other valuable tools in the civilian workplace, and will be followed by a networking and awards reception.

March 2010: NSAWW is proud to announce the First Annual Hope for the Warriors® "Got Heart, Give Hope" Gala. NSAWW is working with Hope for the Warriors, a non-profit organization benefitting wounded warriors and their families, to plan and execute their first ever black tie event and silent auction in the National Capital Region.

NSAWW CEO Courtney Banks, a member of the Gala Committee and the Chair of the Silent Auction for the event, stated "Hope for the Warriors represents an important cause within our community, and one that is dear to our hearts. We are happy to be associated with their organization and I am pleased to donate our resources to this event."

Council member Peter S. Probst was invited to India to speak at a conference sponsored by the Indian government and organized by the Centre for Defense and Security Studies. Attendees were high level Indian military and security officials. The primary focus was terrorism, Mumbai and the state of relations between the military and civilian sectors of government.

Discussion was exceedingly candid, and he appeared to be one of the only two non-Indians present. Participating Indian officials included the Deputy National Security Advisor; the former Defence Secretary; Deputy Chief of the Integrated Defence Staff; Former Chief of the Army Staff; Assistant Chief of the Integrated Defense Staff; Director of the Centre for Joint Warfare; Inspector General of the Police, etc.
